A tourist farm and a successful wine story
Valdhuber wines originate from Svečina, an idyllic little village on the fringes of the Slovenske Gorice hills, close to the Austrian border. At the end of a valley, below a ridge marking the international border stands the new wine cellar and tourist farm of the Valdhuber family. Its architecture may be modern, but its size and materials fit harmoniously in the landscape. In 2013, a tourist farm with accommodation was added, with the aim of providing local and seasonal dishes accompanied by fine wines.
Back to its beginnings in 1913, when Ema Huber, a four-year-old girl came as a foster child from Graz to Svečina, to this legendary wine-producing region. She stayed there and as fate would have it, she later became the owner of an estate. Her marriage to Franc Valdhuber in 1931 brought this viticultural family name to Svečina. Today, this name lies at the very heart of this acclaimed wine brand from the Svečina region.

Besides gourmet delights, Valdhuber offers accommodation in four comfortable modern apartments with a terrace and panoramic views of the vineyards, the Svečina Manor and the Slovenske Gorice hills. Each apartment is fitted with a kitchen, dining room, living room with a sleeping area (with a TV) and a bathroom equipped with a shower. Wifi access is available.
The estate also offers hiking routes that meander through the vineyards. In the locality, you will find Svečina Manor, a viticultural museum and the famous Heart among the Vineyards.
