ABOVE THE ROOFS OF GRAZ
Above the roofs of the old town Graz, in the walls of the former fortifications, the Schloßbergbühne Kasematten is one of the most popular open-air event locations in Austria. The easiest way to reach this stage is with the lift or the Graz Schloßbergbahn. From the exit point, you cross a piazza, which, by the way, can be integrated into events, and you reach the entrance of the historic casemates.
These old walls encompass a large, gently sloping area towards the stage. Thanks to a mobile roof and the newly installed glazing on the rear, the Schloßbergbühne Kasematten can be chosen as an event venue throughout the year regardless of the weather. Since 2017, the casemates have been even more weatherproof thanks to glazing on the rear. Concerts, presentations, gala events, receptions as well as seminars and symposiums can now take place in this historically unique setting. Whether it’s a concert, musical, cabaret, metal or hit song, every visitor is guaranteed to find something in Graz’s most unique venue.
