Recently named the 2019 MICE Future Leader at the Africa MICE Awards, Mercy Cherono Too has now joined GainingEdge as Project Consultant
Mercy, from Nairobi, Kenya, was the first inductee into the GainingEdge Scholar Program in 2018. The goal of the program is to help bright young students get a head start on their future careers in the association and meetings industries. For Mercy, that head start now means that having just graduated university she has already landed her first job – with the global consultancy itself.
GainingEdge CEO, Jon Sivertson, said that Mercy made her mark from the very beginning. She was given a project to help the African Society of Association Executives (AfSAE) expand its database of member prospects and also to develop a report on the African association landscape – to determine what was working well while identifying the greatest challenges faced by African association leaders.

Mercy recently graduated with a BSc in Events and Convention Management from the Technical University of Kenya. Her work at GainingEdge will include research, corporate communications, African market development, support for consulting projects, GainingEdge Scholar Program management and coordinative support for GainingEdge CSR programs.
