A stylishly cosy mid-sized theatre with a musical motif
Mugham is a form of traditional Azerbaijani music recognized by UNESCO as an intangible part of the cultural heritage of humanity. Baku’s International Mugham Center was built as a place to host, promote, preserve and popularize this musical genre but its mid-sized theatre is also an ideal venue for a range of other activities that require raked seating for around 350 and a small stage. There’s also an elegant 80-seat restaurant attached. Designed in the form of two tars (traditional instruments), the stylish modern building is located on Baku Boulevard in a very favoured central location.

Equipments for the building, constructed using the latest technologies, were brought from Italy, Austria, France and Turkey. Over 2000 glasses of different sizes were used in construction. The building has state-of-the-art ventilation and heat systems.
At the International Mugham Center young performers learn the refinements of the art of mugham, an important branch of the Azerbaijani music culture. Concerts of eminent mugham masters, mugham evenings, international conferences and festivals are organized in the Center.
