Where old meets new
Two associations come to mind when hearing the word Grafenegg; a magnificent gothic castle and its 1400 sqm estate or the famous Grafenegg Festival, organised under the imposing Wolkenturm stage.
Have you ever seen anything like it: a medieval castle next to a futuristic open-air stage? A modern outdoor stage in an English park? Or a 19th century riding arena next to a brand-new concert hall? New construction projects and an international music festival are turning Austria’s most important complex in the style of historicism into a vibrant symbiosis of old and new – and a feast for all senses.
With its soaring tower, grandiose façades, stylish staircases, atmospheric arcades and attractive chapel, Grafenegg has become an emblem of Lower Austria. The state rooms on the main floor (Beletage) are the perfect setting for concluding a seminar day in a special atmosphere. The Auditorium and Riding School concert halls may be adapted for company parties, conferences and more while the garden pavilion and chapel are both wonderful venues on the castle grounds for weddings and baptisms.

The festival
The Grafenegg Festival is a major international classical music festival. Two venues have been built particularly for the festival in the park of the castle: The open-air stage Wolkenturm (capacity: 2,000) as well as the Auditorium concert hall (capacity: 1,372).
