An underground obstacle course like no other
In the mining tunnels between Trbovlje and Hrastnik in Slovenia, an adrenaline-filled recreational event is taking place. Organised by the Savus Institute, Jamatlon (cave marathon) attracts over 250 participants, who take on the challenge of completing the 5,5 kilometre underground obstacle course.

We bet you’ve never seen marathon runners wearing helmets and flashlights. The Jamatlon obstacle course is truly something else. The obstacles on the course are mining-themed, from old mining trolleys and tracks to narrow tubes, which you have to crawl through. The organisers change the course every year, so even the veterans never know what’s in store for them. Despite the course changing, everyone knows the organisers have a sneaky asset. The naughty cave elf (Perkmandeljc), who will try to tease the runners.

Taking part in the Jamatlon as a team is a perfect teambuilding experience that will put the camaraderie of your group to the test. Strong team spirit and camaraderie was something miners were known for. All contestants tackle the obstacles together, in teams of 2 to 5 members, a great way to strengthen your group’s problem-solving abilities.
