In order further to extend this important segment in Graz and given the fact that many conference organisers need financial support in order to make a success of their events, the Graz Convention Bureau has been offering a conference subsidy for years.
The most important basic qualifying criterion was a minimum of 300 overnight stays in Graz hotels per conference. The subsidy is calculated as a percentage of the actual total turnover from overnight stays.
In order to increase pre and post-season support for the MICE segment, Graz Convention Bureau has decided further to increase supplements for the winter months from 2020. This will allow conferences in Graz in the period from January till February to receive subsidies of up to 9 percent of total turnover from overnight stays. At the same time, the threshold of a minimum of 300 overnight stays has been reduced to a minimum of 250 overnight stays in the conference-off-season.
