Specialized Slovenian workshop for German MICE market

In the beginning of the month, the Slovenian Convention Bureau held in Munich a specialized MICE workshop.

In recent years, Slovenia has been visited by more and more German guests and Slovenia, with its MICE offer, certainly represents also the market with a great promise for German MICE clients. Thus, on the 4th of July 2019, Slovenia presented itself as a diversified and highly potential MICE destination to German buyers of business meetings and incentives.

The promotional event was organized by the Slovenian Convention Bureau with the support of the Slovenian Tourist Board’s Representative office in Germany, in collaboration with the selected German agency Illerhaus Marketing as well as with eight domestic service providers in the field of business meetings and incentives.

Thirty German stakeholders from the field of business meetings and events in form of final decision makers, agencies and corporate clients attended. Most of them were not very familiar with Slovenia, while few have already prepared their events in Slovenia in the past or were planning to organize it in Slovenia in the upcoming year. German participants attending the workshop and presentation in Munich were mostly interested in the possibility of organizing incentives and smaller conferences in Slovenia.

As Slovenia will be in 2021 holding the title of the European Region of Gastronomy (ERG), the presentation conveniently so held emphasis on the Slovenian gastronomy and internationally renowned chef Janez Bratovž whose food immensely impressed the German guests. Both, the German buyers as well as the domestic partners were very happy with the event and its outcomes and are looking forward to extending further cooperation inside the meetings industry.
