OLDEST EXHIBITION BUILDING IN THE SLAVIC SOUTH
Art Pavilion is the oldest exhibition building in the Slavic south and the only building that was built with the intention of holding large, representative exhibits. The initiative for an art pavilion was first mentioned in 1895 by the Croatian painter Vlaho Bukovac, the most influential artist in fine arts and culture in Zagreb and Croatia at the end of the 19th century. Art Pavilion is located in one of the most beautiful downtown areas in Zagreb and is horticulturally surrounded with a line of Zagreb parks that form the so-called Green Horseshoe. As the place where Croatian and some of the world’s best works of art and culture are presented, this building is an ideal place for meetings, exhibitions, and receptions.
