Most noticable was the 37th ESPID. Organised by a partner of the GR, the Kenes International, the 37th Annual Meeting of the European Society of Paediatric Infectious Diseases took place in GR halls. ESPID was attended by 2,300 participants from 90 countries what made the Congress the event of the year 2019 in Slovenia.
Marko Pokorn, MD, PhD, a co-chair of the Local Organising Committee noted the GR’s diverse character of its venues: “We welcomed more than 2.300 delegates from all over the world, who attended plenary symposia, debates and discussions, were able to choose between four simultaneous parallel sessions and eight parallel early morning Meet-the-expert sessions as well as numerous E-poster discussions. The venue has been a complete success: easy access and close proximity to the city centre, friendly architecture and daylight in most of the interiors with hardly any stairs. AV and IT services were flawless and the catering has been delicious.” Also the participants were happy with the GR. “We have had nothing but extremely positive feedback from all the participants saying that this has been one of the best ESPID meetings in the recent years,” concluded Marko Pokorn.
