Over 3,000 of the world’s leading medical professionals will be converging on the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) to attend the International Congress on Infectious Diseases (ICID) 2020. The high-profile event, recently won by the Centre and the Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), is expected to deliver a RM14.5 million economic boost to the country.
Elaborating on the ICID 2020 destination choice, ICID 2020 Conference Manager, Doris Steinbach, shared, “We held our event at the Centre in 2008 and had a really great experience so we’re back. The layout of the Centre is fantastic, with all the space we need on one floor, providing excellent accessibility for participants. The three hotels directly connected to the venue also provide tremendous convenience and value to our participants. Our conference is very international, we have participants from over 102 countries, so destination accessibility is important and Kuala Lumpur has that connectivity, along with a world-class airport, which really helps.”
