Krakow to get first Hyatt-branded hotel

A Hyatt Hotels Corp. affiliate has entered into a franchise agreement with 3M Hotels Group for the first Hyatt hotel in Krakow, marking the return of the brand to Poland.

The Hyatt Place Krakow will have 216 guestrooms and will be managed by Hotel Professionals Management Group. The hotel is expected to open in 2021.

According to Takuya Aoyama, VP/development at Hyatt, “Krakow, with its royal history and cultural heritage, offers a perfect setting to showcase the Hyatt Place brand, which we hope to see in all markets of Central and Eastern Europe.”

“Many hotel chains are highlighting Poland as an area of opportunity,” said Michael Grove, director of hotel intelligence and customer solutions at HotStats, earlier this year. “Supply growth has been incredible for the last four or five years. They see it as an exciting area for growth.”

The hotel will be located in an upscale neighborhood west of the city center, a 15-minute walk to the National Museum, Jagiellonian University and the Old Town.

Hyatt Place Krakow will have approximately 300 square meters of meeting space, a 180-square-meter workout area connected to a relaxation zone with dry and steam saunas, two food and beverage outlets: the Zoom restaurant and the Lobby Bar.

This development is only the latest addition to Poland’s booming hotel sector. Last year was historic for the country’s commercial real estate investment market, with the total value of transactions expected to exceed €6.3 billion.
