This week GR – Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre hosts 2 big events that are thematically connected. First one is the 48th International Danube Neurology Symposium which is already taking place from 5th October with the end of the Symposium on 6th October and will coalesce with the opening of the 11th International Congress on Non-Motor Dysfunctions in Parkinson’s Disease and Related Disorders (NMDPD) and with a Joint Session of the two Meetings.
Ljubljana, the Green Capital of Europe 2016 and GR- Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre already hosted in 2005 the 37th International Danube Symposium and this year Symposium under the event title “A Decade Later” will present largely how neurology changed/developed in the last ten years.
The main topics are focusing on Pathophysiology of motor cortical disorders, Functional neuroimaging, New diagnostic and treatment aspects of neurological disorders, Recent findings in experimental and clinical neurology, Movement disorders, Epilepsy, Specialist nurses in neurology, Symposium on Botulinum toxin, Ethical issues in neurology, Stroke, Polyneuropathies, Demyelinating diseases and Bridging neurology and psychiatry.
The congress serves as an opportunity to deliberate on brain diseases and how they contribute to cognition and behaviour. Also to identify the psychological markers of Parkinson’s dementia and of dementia with Lewy bodies, and also the biochemical and genetic factors involved. NMDPD’s aim is to discuss the new developments in the understanding of the non-motor aspects of Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders and their management.
